Sludge on dipstick
Webb7 maj 2024 · I had gunk on my transmission dipstick. It turned out to be magnetic and came from rusting inside the dipstick tube. The Ford dealer said they have seen it before and they figured it was caused by condensation inside the long tube. They recommended a flush and filter change. They also swabbed the inside on the tube. Webb19 mars 2011 · You will see a marked improvement in both how the engine runs and the look of the oil on the dipstick. At that point your good to go for 10,000 mile oil change intervals. My oil dipstick at 5,000 miles looks like new oil compared to yours and you just had an oil change. I run the same as listed.

Yep, as stated above; White sludge is usually an indication of coolant getting into the engine rather being separated from the engine. Which usually indicates a bad head gasket. USUALLY but not always.
